life updateeee

So I’ve been seriously slacking with my life updates but that’s because I haven’t had anything terribly exciting to post! The past week was a bit hectic for a bunch of reasons.

But then the weekend came and I breathed. Haha but seriously, I was able to get in some much-needed relaxation.

  • Pecha Kucha presentation with my sister. 20 slides, 20 seconds each! We got some laughs and some nice feedback {“Hell yeah, I’ll show some love. Great talk at #pknraleigh last night, ladies!} Stay tuned for the video!
  • Lunch at Beasley’s with the boys. I opted for the meatloaf and mashed potatoes since they are gluten-free but then I ruined it with a biscuit and gravy. Whoops!
  • Dinner with a new friend {I ordered bangers and mash! Don’t know what’s up with my mashed potato overload} then a night out in downtown
  • Volunteering at TEDxRaleigh where I got to see several great speakers and hang out with some authors (like Sam). Just a normal Saturday 😉
  • Volunteering at Haven House with Change the Triangle– what an incredible experience. I led the session on how to get a job with the teens- we chatted about the Top 20 Wardrobe Malfunctions, where they would like to get a job, where they can look {Craigslist!}, and what all the volunteers do. I had fun explaining our business to them! And I made some of them do skits with me about good contact, which seemed to sink in. After the event, the volunteers all went to the Oxford and grubbed on some food. Every month I am so struck by the group- they are amazing on-site as volunteers, but they’re also fun, exciting people who know how to have a good time.
  • Taking the dogs to Umstead Park…we ate sushi and drank Starbucks at the picnic tables and then decided to take the dogs to run at the dog park.
  • Clothing swap with the blog girls {and a few others!}. I got a few great items but that’s for another post 🙂

This Day Last Year: Roasted Vegetable Panini, which was part of my uncompleted “7 Vegetables, 11 Recipes” blog series. The idea was to suggest 11 recipes that you could make with garlic, onion, red pepper, orange pepper, yellow pepper, yellow squash, and zucchini. To see the recipes I did end up posting, click here!
